COMPUTER PROBLEMS ALMOST FIXED AT LAST.

I am sorry I did not get the chance to wish you all a Happy Christmas as my new satellite system was not installed till Dec 24th,then we had a few teething problems with it ,still to be fixed but everyone is still on holiday.

We had a pleasant, quiet Christmas with our children and Grandchildren, the weather was mild, though wet and grey, not a snowflake in sight.Anyway,I hope you all enjoyed your Christmas, did any of you have snow on Christmas morning.?

I have not had time to take many photographs lately, but here are a couple of the birds on the feeder that I can see from the window.

 Blue tits,chaffinch,gold finch,coal tits.
A blackbird with very unusual white marking on it's neck.I have seen them with white feathers on their wings or tails, but never like this one.

A bullfinch,a rare visitor to our garden.
As the weather has been so mild we have not had the rarer birds that we had last year, brought in by the exceptional arctic conditions that lasted for almost three months.
Thats all for today, will be posting on a regular basis from now on.
I wish you all a happy peaceful new year and look forward to continuing my blog friendship with you all.

Winter and the internet

My internet connection has been almost non existent again and when I do get it,the signal is so slow I can not do a post, hence my lack of blog posts.
I am so fed up with my providers lack of PROVIDING a usable broadband service I am changing to a satellite provider.

Living in rural Ireland, broadband through the telephone line was the only available option, then came companies that offered broadband from masts erected in various places around the country but we are under the mountain and can not get the signal-- we have tried them all to no avail.!! Recently a company is offering a  satellite  service that guarantees internet access anywhere in Ireland so I have signed up for it.
They are coming to install it next week so hopefully I will have super fast broadband and more monthly allowance than I have at the moment. It is quite expensive, but I am getting a phone service from them as well which gives me free local.national and UK calls and no line rental,so I will save loads with that.
I will let you know how I get on with it.!!

We had our first snow fall earlier in the week,it did not last long thank goodness but the mountains did look pretty for a little while. This time last year we were snowed in and could not get out for two weeks.

I will be back next week,if the new broadband works, until then, take care.
