Some time ago a foal was dumped on the mountain,my daughter was told about it and she with the help of some neighbors, went up the mountain to rescue it.
The foal was in a really neglected state, its coat was eaten by mites,it was starving and it had really bad infections in it's eyes. my daughter decided to keep him,she got him seen by the vet and after a few months,he had put on weight, his coat was improving and the infection in his eyes cleared up,unfortunately one eye was so badly damaged that it left him blind in that eye.
He was named Bob,this is him while recovering.
It is two years since this photo was taken, just look at him now.....
He is a beautiful animal,so gentle and affectionate,my G daughter loves him and he will soon start to be broken in for her to ride,by the horse whisperer method, much kinder than any other method. when he gets to be ridden,I will post my G daughter ridding him.
A happy end for a very lucky horse.
I have a photo of the squirrel ,who must love me because he seems to pose for me every time I see him.just had to show you this.
Don't you just love him.!!
Until the next time....
Carolyn.

Lucky, lucky, beautiful Bob -- he looks quite the sweetheart! What a wonderful thing that your daughter rescued him (getting him off the mountain must have been quite the adventure). The transformation is amazing. Bob looks to be a big boy -- is he a draft cross? Nice big hooves! I'm sorry that he lost the sight in one eye. I look forward to updates on his progress as a riding horse.
ReplyDeleteAdorable squirrel, too -- we have grey squirrels here, but they are very shy.
I love the story of the horse being rescued by your wonderful daughter! He's turned out to be a beauty...look at that sleek coat! Can't wait to hear that he's been broken to ride. Love the squirrel photo...he's so cute, the little ham!
ReplyDeleteThe squirrel is so cute. Bob looks great all credit to your daughter

This is the kind of post I love to read, one with a happy ending. Your daughter is Bob's angel for rescuing him and taking him in. He is such a beautiful horse. Love the squirrel too. They are just the cutest little things. Yours over there have more of a reddish tinge to them with tufts on their ears, so pretty but then I love our squirrels too and just keep taking photos of them in every pose imaginable.
ReplyDeleteOur thunderstorm passed without incident thank you for asking. I can't imagine being hit by lightning often. My sister-in-law's house was struck a few years back and it caught on fire, they had to have the fire engines out. I don't think they have lightning rods like the castle.
That's a lovely story about beautiful people (your daughter) and beautiful animals (the horse and the squirrel). Your photos, as usually, are great.
ReplyDeleteIsn't he the most handsome gentleman, he doesn't look like the same horse !
ReplyDeleteWell done, giving him love, and a forever home.
