CRICKET SEASON AGAIN

Today is our 45th wedding anniversary, where is my husband on this momentous occasion ? away in Cork umpiring the first cricket match of the season, much too important to miss !!
I did cover this topic in a very old post that most of you may have not seen, but John is a qualified Irish umpire and gets sent all over the country to umpire the big games,I have had to accept that I come second to cricket, having spent these last 45yrs being a cricket widow I am used to it by now.
I have amused myself by going for a walk, sitting in the garden, blogging and eating loads of posh chocolate that I bought myself. It has turned 7pm so will now open a bottle of good red wine and toast MY anniversary, I will probably be asleep by the time he comes back !!!!!!

ELECTRONIC TAGS

I was in the 'big' town today as I need things that could not be purchased locally. It was a beautiful day,the sun was shining and it was really hot .Dungarvan ,our nearest big town is on the coast and has lovely sea views and some nice coffee shops on the quay,so after doing my shopping I went for a coffee and took in the sea air. Before leaving  I made a visit to the ladies room, then disaster struck!! the zip on my jeans broke as i was doing it up,I was not wearing a long top so I was really embarrassed .With my hand bag strategically placed,I rush off to the nearest shop to get a new pair of jeans, found a pair that I actually liked, tried them on and they fitted perfectly.I went to the till and said I would take them and that I was keeping them on because my zip was broken (the sales lady understood my predicament and smiled kindly)
then she took the price tag off them and a label that was dangling from the waist,at this point I decided to buy a second pair and went to the rail to get them.As she was packing the the second pair she removed the round flat electronic disc that is an anti theft device (did I mention they were not cheap jeans ?)I paid for my purchase and started to leave the shop, next thing I know there are bells and bleepers going off, people are looking at me,and sales staff are desending on me,if I thought a broken zip was embarrassing,it had nothing on this ! I had forgotten that the security disc was still attached to the jeans I was wearing!! the sales girl had not had time to remove it because I had rushed off to get the other pair and had forgotten about it.
Moral of this story,if you try something on and decide to keep it on,make sure the security tag is removed or you will be questioned by the store detectives !!!!

THE RIVER WALK

To day,our visitors took off sight seeing and shopping,I was looking after my Granddaughter,so I decided to take her on a photo shoot at the Glenshilane river walk and nature trail. We had a lovely walk along the river and she took some really good pictures with her camera,These are my efforts, will post some of hers when I have asked if she minds.
The pictures are of the changing river as it winds its way through the Glen, peaceful meandering, then thundering over rocky outcrops and tumbling down waterfalls.

The start of the walk, cross the bridge then follow the trail.

Heading down stream over the rocks

Water turning into foam

A waterfall along the way

Flowers along the way

We had a lovely walk and lots of fun along the way,the sun was shinning, what more could a granny and her nine year old granddaughter want?

FAMILY GET TOGETHER DOWN AT THE FARM

Easter Saturday,we had the family gathering  at the farm.My eldest daughter was visiting from England, with her three daughters,my eldest son and his wife and their son, together with my youngest daughter, her daughter and Ron ,( who live at the farm ) and hosted the evening.
After a lovely venison meal, cooked by Ron,and much wine and conversation, the music started. Most of my family are talented guitar players, some of you may follow the Watercats blog spot,so will know of them.
My grand daughter is in a band in England and sings beautifully,as well as playing the guitar.
