MUSICAL FAMILY

THE WATERCATS PLAYING LIVE

This last weekend my daughter and Ron were playing in Dungarvan at the food fastival, their first time on the BIG stage. They went down really well, but we have no proper video of it,this video was taken at another venue, some time ago,but I thought it might  interest someone.Ron is hiding in the dark area,so you can hear him playing but you can not see him !!

Some photo's from the food festival last Sunday.

HOW WE HAVE CHANGED OVER THE YEARS

As you can see from my last post,John and I have just clocked up 45yrs together.
We actually met several years before our wedding,so we have been together, more like 50yrs !!Today I looked for our wedding photographs and could not help noticing that they are very faded so I have copied them all and stored them on a disc for posterity.

This was taken on our engagement, when John had a full head of hair !!

A couple of years later, going into church with my father

The smiling bride

The bride and groom with the alter boys and choir boys,John, minus most of his hair !

The wedding cake

In our 40s,John bald as a coot

In our 60s,Christmas in the Castle with Pams grandsons,John's beard now snowy white, looks like father Christmas!!

Me at Bards birtday

Although I have put on weight and can't see a thing without my glasses,I now look like my mother, but John has changed beyond recognition from the first photo, when we got engaged.
I was once asked ,if I had remarried ! because the person did not recognise John.
Who knows what we will look like in another 10yrs,but so long as we have our health, who cares.

CRICKET SEASON AGAIN

Today is our 45th wedding anniversary, where is my husband on this momentous occasion ? away in Cork umpiring the first cricket match of the season, much too important to miss !!
I did cover this topic in a very old post that most of you may have not seen, but John is a qualified Irish umpire and gets sent all over the country to umpire the big games,I have had to accept that I come second to cricket, having spent these last 45yrs being a cricket widow I am used to it by now.
I have amused myself by going for a walk, sitting in the garden, blogging and eating loads of posh chocolate that I bought myself. It has turned 7pm so will now open a bottle of good red wine and toast MY anniversary, I will probably be asleep by the time he comes back !!!!!!

ELECTRONIC TAGS

I was in the 'big' town today as I need things that could not be purchased locally. It was a beautiful day,the sun was shining and it was really hot .Dungarvan ,our nearest big town is on the coast and has lovely sea views and some nice coffee shops on the quay,so after doing my shopping I went for a coffee and took in the sea air. Before leaving  I made a visit to the ladies room, then disaster struck!! the zip on my jeans broke as i was doing it up,I was not wearing a long top so I was really embarrassed .With my hand bag strategically placed,I rush off to the nearest shop to get a new pair of jeans, found a pair that I actually liked, tried them on and they fitted perfectly.I went to the till and said I would take them and that I was keeping them on because my zip was broken (the sales lady understood my predicament and smiled kindly)
then she took the price tag off them and a label that was dangling from the waist,at this point I decided to buy a second pair and went to the rail to get them.As she was packing the the second pair she removed the round flat electronic disc that is an anti theft device (did I mention they were not cheap jeans ?)I paid for my purchase and started to leave the shop, next thing I know there are bells and bleepers going off, people are looking at me,and sales staff are desending on me,if I thought a broken zip was embarrassing,it had nothing on this ! I had forgotten that the security disc was still attached to the jeans I was wearing!! the sales girl had not had time to remove it because I had rushed off to get the other pair and had forgotten about it.
Moral of this story,if you try something on and decide to keep it on,make sure the security tag is removed or you will be questioned by the store detectives !!!!
