RECYCLING

In my office,otherwise known as the sitting room in the cottage,I have a large black leather couch and two reclining chairs.I have had them for a long time and they have become saggy and one of the recliners is broken,the couch has always been uncomfortable and we were thinking of replacing them.
We went window shopping yesterday to see if we could find anything we liked while the sales were still on but to no avail,also they were much more expensive than I thought they would be.We decided to wait until later in the year to make a purchase,but this morning the couch got ruined by Freddie,so we may have to go shopping sooner than later.!!

Freddie has his own rug on the couch and it is his preferred place to sleep.This morning I was preoccupied sending  emails and photos to my mother,Freddie was on the couch chewing his chewy bone,so I thought.!! But he had been chewing into the leather on the couch,he started choking and I had to pull loads of stuffing out of his throat,the couch is ruined.
So has anyone got any ideas of what to make out of yards of black leather,?? No,I do not fancy a leather coat or skirt.!!
The couch and chairs will have to be broken up to dispose of them but the leather seems too good to throw away,so all suggestions to how I can recycle it it would be most welcome.
This week is going to be spent looking for a replacement and working out a budget to afford it.!!!

SORTING OUT MY FILES

I don't know about you,but I am an untidy file keeper.When I load my photos from the camera onto the computer they get left in any old order,hence I can not easily find what I am looking for when I want a particular picture.This week I have been trawling through the thousands,YES THOUSANDS,of pictures I have taken in the last two years,and have been deleting and sorting into relevant files according to the subject ,i.e  family,dogs,birds,trees etc,now I just have to pull a file by its title to find what I want. I am going to sort  photos as soon as I put them into the computer from now on to save me from having to do this task again.Are you like me or are you ultra tidy and organized.???

ON THE WING

The weather  here is still damp and the skies are grey,though it is very mild,I have not taken any good photographs to share with you.
I was sorting through my file of bird photographs and decided to post some of them today.You may have seen some of them before as they were taken last summer,but I love taking bird shots and I like these.

 I hope we get some brighter days soon so that I get back into my routine of shooting everything I see on my walks.

FLY ME TO THE MOON

The photo I really wanted for this post was very blurred,it was of the jet just as it was approaching the moon,this photo was the only one that was clear enough to see,but you get the gist of what I was trying to capture.!!
I also wanted to put a Frank Sinatra song to the post--- Fly me to the moon-- but I could not work out how to do it.
I think I will have to take some computer lessons this year,I know the basics,but when I want to do something fancy to make my blog more interesting,I have not got a clue how to do it.!!!

For the past two days Ireland has been battered by gale force winds,we have lost a few roof tiles and limbs from the trees in the garden,but on the whole we have escaped the worst of the storm. Others have not been so lucky,many people are without power or telephones,there has been flooding and damage to homes.The roads have been blocked by falling trees and debris.This morning all is calm,but more wind is forecast later on today.

This is the time of year I would love to go somewhere,a holiday,to get away from the cold and damp weather.
Or just fly me to the moon.!!
